2024

In 2024 I am planning to return to Buenos Aires and I was invited to Chengdu in NY20+ to reside for a month and work on my project.

In May I will be exhibiting at the Estudio Berlin art space in Mexico City and at the end of the year at the Alba Area Gallery in Brescia (Italy).

I am also connecting with several social science researchers keep the project up to date with this scientific lense and create a real dialogue with the people who need it.

2023

This year I continued working on the project in the city of GDL, entered Mexico City and was able to travel to Valparaiso (Chile) and to the region of Santa Cruz (Bolivia) where I worked with schools and with friends of Muros Parlante and El Canto de la Selva.

It was an incredible month and a half of work and sharing with students and incredible people and artists.

TALK AT FRANCO MEXICAN SCHOOL

At the end of 2023, I was talking about my project to two groups of students at the school: one made up of elementary school children and the other of high school teenagers. Very interesting and inspiring. The kids were extremely active.

MURAL RENOVATION MONTENEGRO PARK IN GDL

During the last week of September 2023, I renovated a mural that I did in 2022 in Montenegro Park in Colonia Americana in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The restructured mural contains provoking images of technological abuse in children and teenagers, with the objective of creating reflection for both the students of the institute that is right in front of the park, as well as other teenagers that pass by or frequent the area. It is important to mention that the main characters of this mural are students of the same institute, which makes it even more special.

GODET EXPERIENCE AT MIMÍ MENDOZA GALLERY IN GUADALAJARA

In 2023 I was also invited to lead a painting class for more than 20 people at the amazing Galería Mimí Mendoza in Guadalajara, Mexico and I also exhibited my work. The event was organized by the company Godet; specialists in creating creative relaxation experiences.

EXHIBITION + CONVERSATION AT THE RESEARCH INSTITUTE DR. JOSÉ MARÍA LUIS MORA IN THE CITY OF MEXICO.

On September 6, the talk “Entre lenguajes y disciplinas, This is Modern Society” took place in the auditorium of the Instituto Mora, together with Dr. Oliver Kezlarek and Dr. José María Sánchez Bursón in Mexico City.

Here you can find the complete talk: https://fb.watch/oVKtHzVchq/?mibextid=v7YzmG

At the end of the conversation, an exhibition of my works was inaugurated at the same Institute.

CENTRO NACIONAL DE LAS ARTES IN MEXICO CITY (Mexico) 2 murals + 1 exhibition + 2 presentations

CENART opened its doors and I finally returned to Mexico City with my project.

I hope the project opens more doors to paint murals in the streets of the city, to work with schools and universities and to talk about this topic that is so current today.

The inauguration of the exhibition “Is this modern society?” took place in the Plaza de la Música at CENART, where I presented two murals on wood that I painted in situ. The exhibition was enriched with a timeline of the project.

WORKSHOP “HOW TO MAKE AN ART PROJECT WITH A SOCIAL FOCUS?” AT ENPEG, LA ESMERALDA.

One of several activities of this project that I carried out in Mexico City during the month of June was the presentation of the talk “How to make an artistic project with a social approach”. This talk took place in the Multipurpose Room at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving (ENPEG), La Esmeralda.

It was aimed at students of visual and plastic arts, artists with an interest in production with social interaction, but anyone interested could attend, as long as they registered in advance.

Gallery Foro La Paz in Mexico City (Mexico) – Exhibition

I had the opportunity to exhibit my international project “Is this Modern Society?” at Foro La Paz, an art, culture, music, theater and entertainment center located in the heart of San Angel in Mexico City.

The inauguration of the exhibition took place on June 14 at 8:00 p.m. and there were about 10 works, including paintings and drawings of the project, in addition to the intervention of a wall. The works were exhibited for two weeks at the La Paz Forum so that more people could learn about my project.

I was invited by the governmental public service Desarrollo Económico Zapopan and Cultura Zapopan to give my workshop: “How to develop artistic projects with social impact?” on March 4th, 2023 at Casa del Autor in Zapopan.

The workshop was open to anyone interested in the subject, artist or not. I shared with the attendees the experience developing artistic projects and interventions around the world and how to merge social impact.

2023 Guadalajara (Mexico) – Mural

This mural covered another mural that I also created in 2017 because it had been damaged by the passage of time. It was a very loved mural by the people of Guadalajara. The owner of the house asked to add the wall on the side because the mural was the only one that over the years the writers had respected.

2022 Art Gallery SITEUR in Guadalajara (Mexico) – Exhibition

2022 Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – Mural + Workshop in collaboration with Colegio Libertad AC

For the first time the students were engaged not only with the themes of the project but also by giving them a communication class and making them the protagonists of the digital communication of the project.

One more way to show that the project is not against digital technology, but wants to propose collaboration to its development from a social and educational point of view.

2022 Nottingham Trent University – 7th International Conference on Behavioral Addictions (UK) – Exhibition + Presentation

A great honor for me to be invited to this event that revolves around digital technology and its addictions. Behavioral addictions talk about gaming, porn, gambling and social media abuse.

I was able to exhibit my work in print format at the event and have a presentation and also attend several lectures by professors from all over the world. Here I realized that in this field of research it is difficult to reach empirical studies because the target audience is often small and localized in a specific area.

2023 Collège du Gâtinais in Burgundy 1 workshop

A Spanish teacher in France proposed that I work on an educational project about language and education through Is this modern society?

Very interesting that I could use my knowledge of languages (I have a degree in Italian, Spanish and English languages) to enter countries where I could not express myself directly with the children.

2022 Mumbai (India) Mood Indigo Festival 1 mural

For the first time the project reaches Asia. It was a very interesting and intense experience where I had the opportunity to play with the architecture of the space and get to know a very technological culture, very different from the western one.

2022 Guadalajara, Jalisco, México – 2 murals + 1 workshop in collaboration with Colegio Cervantes

Finally, Covid restrictions begin to loosen up, so I’m back to work in a school. In this case, the meaning of the project and the importance of connecting through the extra-curricular activities of the school was captured at the entrance of the school.

2019 Sheffield, UK, 1 mural, a presentation at the University of Sheffield and a presentation at an elementary school in Sheffield in collaboration with researchers Rowland Atkinson, Lee Crookes and Kelham Island Association.

For the first time I developed the project together with two world-renowned sociologists who agree to be part of the project.

Over the years, I realize that collaboration with experts can be the key to the project being able to transmit knowledge to the population through people who study the effects of digital technology on us.

This mural for the first time talks about the importance of leaving aside the cell phones from time to time to connect with our loved ones.

As time passes, the more opportunities come about with experts researching on the topics related to digital technology tools. A new axis that enters my murals is gaming.

2018, Barcelona (Spain), 1 mural in collaboration with Accor Hotels and Innocad.

First mural of the project that enters the interior design. In this case, at the Hotel Ibis de Poblenou in Barcelona, part of an exclusive pilot project about tourism, culture and community.

2018, Barcelona (Spain) – 1 mural, 1 exhibition and 1 workshop in collaboration with Escuela Jesuita.

Here comes another stage of the project. Building together a workshop with students from the schools, using art as a tool to create a dialogue with a part of the population that was born with a cell phone in hand and sometimes suffers from depression due to the distance from the real world.

The workshop can be a very powerful way for schools themselves to start talking about issues such as cyberbullying, porn, gaming, social disconnection, etc.

2018, Puebla, México – 1 mural in collaboration with La Rueda

2017 Sofia (Bulgaria), 1 mural in collaboration with Urban Creatures Project

2017 Manchester, UK – Out House Project, 1 mural in collaboration with Out House Project

2017 Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico – 1 mural

2017 Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico  – 1 mural – 1 exhibition – 1 talk at 21st Century Art Gallery

After a year into the project, I realized that there was a need to create more of a form of dialogue with the public because the people themselves were transmitting it to me. For this reason, I decided to add to the project the part of exhibitions and talks.

It was the real first mural of the project “Is this Modern Society?” Out of this experience was born the idea of moving the project to different parts of the world because of the way people reacted and approached it during and after its completion.

The mural created a lot of interest among many specialized street art magazines around the world.

2015 Richmond, Indiana, USA- Richmond Mural Festival, 1 mural 25 x 3 meters
